I have to be honest, at this point I somehow feel obligated to give some advice or to talk about how far a journey it might have been. Or how it all works itself out in the end, but there really isn't anything I can say or advice anybody into doing.
Either you have it or you don't. I'm not necessarily talking about talent, either, enough movies out there prove that you can have none and still be succesful. I'm talking about the dire NEED to tell stories trought moving pictures. Such bliss.
I hate to sound like such a poser, but it was Tim Burton for me. back when Beetlejuice came out, and HBO was showing it, they had a special about the filmmaker, and it was then that I realized that being a director was my goal.
Ever since I was a teen, and had snapped out of the "veterinarian, policeman or astronaut" factory setting that all kids come with, I wanted to make movies. I didn't know what role was which, I thought at first that I wanted to be a producer, since he produces, would be the choice spot. I found out different later on... and living in Mexicali (Baja California) at the time, I have to enjoy the fact that a couple of people laughed when I said: "I want to go to Hollywood and be a film-maker" - well, the only reason why I'd say "enjoy" is because now I can say: "EAT IT, BITCHES!"
EVOLVER FILMS is far from being a full fledged production house, I in fact work almost exclusively under Exilio Films, but when I do in fact lash out on my own, and begin to (perhaps ironically) produce: then that will be refered to as Evolver.
Stick around, I got plenty of stories to tell.
